Hilarion: The markings on the end phalange of this finger relate to the lessons of money, pure and simple. The great importance of this lesson in the present day will be self-evident. Never before in man's history has there been such temptation to turn one's attention solely upon the goods of the world and the money required to obtain them. Nor is it difficult to accumulate a reasonable store of money if sufficient effort is expended. Even for those disinclined to work, it is possible to obtain money from other sources; unemployment insurance, old age benefits and loan and finance companies. The availablity of money in present day civilization is meant to make more acute and revelaing the test of money, i.e. the availablity of each individual to avoid the pitfalls of attitude and action which which represent a failure in this important test.
The best approach to money is simple; regard it as a necessary factor in the present day life, one that must be dealt with, something that must be handled due to the fact that, through money, one acquires the ability to purchase the necessaties of life. An individual must have access to money in order to care for his loved ones and to provide the basics for himself and and those who are dependent on him.
However, any exaggerated emphasis on the importance of money for its own sake, any tendency to see one's own worth or value in terms of the money one has accumulated, any habit of cheating others of their money, of setting exorbitant prices in order to enrich the self, in using money to control or enslave others-all of these represent a failure in relation to the money lesson.
As with the little finger, the whorl pattern signifies a high level of success in a prior life, the loop represents a middle level of learning, and the simple hump or ridge denotes a primitive level with much yet to be learned. Again, do not forget that these patterns at the finger ends do not tell of the present life (in which much may have been learned already) but only point to levels attained in the lives prior to the present. Also, the approach to interpreting a divergence between left and right hand patterns remains as previously explained.
