Aajonus Vonderplanitz

There’s a question here about Aajonus Vonderplanitz. How did he achieve such a high level of wisdom, genius, intuition and expertise? How was he guided, how can we achieve this as well?

Hilarion: Well, the last part of this question is perhaps the best one, since well, you are asking us to comment on another channel. But, Aajonus clearly was far ahead of his time and yet, so much of what his life was about was simplicity. Simply asking the right questions. Simply receiving the answers no matter how difficult, if they were simple. What are you designed to eat? The diet of your ancestors would seem to be the obvious answer based upon DNA research, people’s health, and how actually putting it into action has cured so many, and so on.

It may mean that you see things upside down. The world, such as it has been with all of its attention on things your ancestors would have never recognized; your ancestors didn't have a kitchen, they didn't cook, they didn't wash. There are so many things that you do today that they would not understand how it has to do with eating or food or nourishment. It is in this way that you uncover a principal; the principle of simplicity, the principle of direct action with the answers as simple as they are regardless of the consequences.

What principles of this nature can you discover in yourself? Many individuals might answer this question— a principle of love. But, have you continued it? Have you put it into action? Have you loved even when it did not seem that it was acceptable or appropriate or that which could make a difference? Perhaps, it is a principle that runs right deep into your own heart and consciousness in a way that no one else could understand. You see this over and over with so many of the great ones; the great artists, the great musicians, the great photographers. You see this also though, in the great scientists who recognize a principal; they know it is there and they are going to dig it out no matter what. They will get all the help that they need, they will do whatever experiments are necessary. It may even take them several lifetimes. In all of this what you begin to recognize is that if this is valuable to you and if you are willing to make the sacrifices, you can welcome this for yourself.

Most people have had the greatest success doing this when they set it up ahead of time before they are born. For instance, Aajonus’ brother, who would indeed create all kinds of emotional difficulty for him in his life to help him fine-tune his ability to depend on himself no matter what happened outside. Well, how much of this would you want for yourself? Perhaps it would be painful, perhaps it would be difficult. That is why you would not often choose such a path for yourself.

Many individuals though, living longer lives do have opportunities to choose again; having lived a relatively happy childhood, having come through whatever they needed to, relatively unscarred. They now begin this quest. Look into the world at what stirs you, what drives your passion? Do what you can to avail yourself of the knowledge or the understanding about it with the direct experience or whatever it takes and then having reached some plateau with this; typically this is suggested as 10,000 hours.

So, you work with it for a few years and you get a good sense of it. But, then you deliberately invite for yourself a pause, a moratorium; a place of quietness and open-ness. You are not rejecting this life's work, you're simply setting it aside for a moment as you contemplate the deeper question. Now that I have felt this, now that I have been a part of it, what stirs in me? What is brought to the surface of this? What is the area in which it is difficult and where I need to put more attention? Where in which there is something here elusive? Something to be sought after, something to be gained?

If the answer to this is absolutely nothing, you have completely learned what you needed to about this and it is now boring to you and it would be wise to strike off in a new direction. But, many people will notice that there is some small part of this that they haven't uncovered, haven't learned about, haven't recognized or worked with within themselves. Then it is time to activate. Ask that the guides help, ask for the dreams, ask for the intuition and be open to that which comes to you in the way in which you can resolve this and you can go deeper with it because it will most likely not come from within the constructs that you have already created.

By its own nature these have created boundaries, these have created a context that you must break free of in order to move to the next level. Hence, in Aajonus' book, “We Want to Live,” he had to come to the place of death, he had to come to the meeting with the coyotes, he had to have the confrontation with all of his fears and all of his issues in order for once and for all to accept the simple way of the diet of his ancestors; of the diet of the animals, and the coyotes in particular around him, as also appropriate for him. Much as he might reject it, much as his society might tell him otherwise, still he would receive this and know it. So, as you read, “We Want to Live,” and as you read the coyote story over and over look for the deeper meaning of this in your life where there might be some aspect of that which you have been a part of but you are now ready to shift; now ready to go deeper with, now ready to welcome in a different context. We hope this is of some value and insight in this deeper issue.
