Hilarion: The technology in the Atlantean period in the history of man covered many fields, changing periodically to reflect the level of spirituality of the race during that experience. Thus, it is not possible to give a simple explanation of the technology which the Atlanteans employed, since what was understood in one epoch was lost or became impossible in another.
We have mentioned the concept that certain kinds of technology actually became impossible to employ for an important reason. The reason relates to the present phase in the development in the human race. Today, there are certain phenomena which can no longer be achieved. because of the spiritual blindness of the race. That spiritual blindness has introduced a "hardening" of the etheric conditions surrounding the earth which make it impossible, for example, to achieve the higher phases of the excitation of inert gases through the use of pressure and magnetism. In past ages, for example, during the middle Atlantean epoch about two million years ago it was possible to attain those higher phases and as a result that civilization was able to obtain endless amounts of electrical energy freely and to generate localized gravitational fields that could be used for lifting small vehicles designed to fly through the air.
To return to the specific question, let us merely sketch a few of the most advanced technologies that the Atlanteans ever employed. First on such a list would be the devices which they utilized for altering the sense of time in the human thought process. This secret was given to them from another galactic race, but unfortunately the gift was somewhat premature. There was a faction among the Atlanteans who wished to use this technique to acquire mental power beyond that of their brothers and to employ that enhanced power to exert control over others. This led to a great division among the people of the time, and war was the result.
At a more spiritually awakened epoch somewhat later, they were able to construct a device that could abstract information from the Akashic records; not only the records of the past, but also a view of the most probable future events, assuming no manipulation of history from planes beyond the fourth initiation, as it is called.
The concept just discussed deserves a further explanation for the sake of clarity. We have often pointed out that the future is in a state of flux - that it is not set or fixed in a predetermined way. In general that is true and at any given point in time there are a number of probabilities which are possible. Among these probabilities is one which is ahead of the others in likelihood and the device we have mentioned was able to distinguish this likelihood from the others and "show" it on a screen. similar to the television principle. However, two things must be stressed. The first is that future probabilities continue to fluctuate and change, so that, what was the foremost likelihood on one day may give way to another scenario on another day.
This is part of the explanation as to why certain of the predictions that were made by Edward Cayce and others do not materialize. The other part of the explanation is this; that the probabilities which a psychic individual is able to view are normally limited to that which can be seen at or below the fourth initiation. This means that they are viewing probabilities assuming no interference from the levels beyond the fourth. That is all that the device referred to earlier could perceive, and it is usually all that a psychic individual is allowed to pick up. This means that the predictions do not take into account the possibility of a higher interference with the course of human events- an overshadowing orchestration based on decisions made at levels beyond which the Akashic records can reach.
The most important functioning of this "higher interference" in earthly affairs at the present time relates to the necessity that all major Biblical prophecy touching on the time of testing for humanity (now in progress) must appear to manifest. The reason for this necessity pertains to the whole purpose behind Biblical prophecy. The purpose is not to convince succeeding generations that the old prophets were better at prediction than their modern equivalents. It was related to a much broader plan- namely to cause incarnated souls first to be exposed to the scriptural prophecies in one or more lives lived in the Piscean Age, and then to have the same souls live through the manifestation of those prophecies, and thereby become convinced of the authenticity of channeled scriptural writing. Firstly, with respect to the prophecies, and then (as an extension) with respect to all of the affirmations in the scriptures; regarding the reality of God, the fact of the resurrection of all souls, and so forth.
This procedure of requiring prophecies to manifest was not intended for all souls, since many were elected to remain aware of the higher truths, and not to need the stark demonstration of the accuracy of scripture. There have been few souls who have retained an awareness of the true purpose and meaning of life, and therefore there is all the more reason for bringing the prophetic visions into reality.
We have strayed from the original direction of the questions, but we wished to take the opportunity here to place before our earth brothers an understanding of one of the more confusing areas of occultism.
